We use an all natural cleaner to gently clean the inside of your pets ears. If necessary we also remove any hair growth that causes infections if left alone.
We do a Tidy Trim:
Not all breeds need this done, but if they do it's no extra charge.
EARS & EYES: We also trim the hair on and around the ears if necessary to neaten the look, and we trim around their eyes to help them see. This keeps them looking neat & tidy and felling great (also good for in between hair cuts).

We Trim Their Nails:
Keeping
the nails trimmed is important for the comfort of your pet. Over-grown
nails can causing great pain and discomfort. It can cause your pet to
walk on the heals of their feet creating joint problems. If they are
not trimmed for a very long time the nails can grow right into the pads
of their feet. Nail filing is included to
smooth any rough edges (dogs only), or as an alternative to trimming very large
nails. Some dogs that fear nail trimming are able to handle nail filing.

FEET: We trim the footpad hair. Pets
grow hair between their pads on the bottom of their feet. When the hair
gets long it will collect dirt and snow and track it in your house. If
left alone the dirty hair will begin to knot, and then it becomes a mat, which
pulls on the skin and hurts.
SANITARY: Some long haired pets need a little trim to help to keep those private areas neat and clean. Happy Paws Policies
Appointment time:
We do ask for a 15 minute window. Sometimes a difficult groom, or traffic can put us behind schedule. If we are going to
be more than 15 minutes late, we will call.
Payment:
Payment in full is expected at the end of the grooming session.
Happy Paws only accepts cash or checks. Checks can be made payable to:
Happy Paws. Returned checks will be subject to a $20.00 returned check
fee, as well as a cash payment for the groom. Sorry, we do not accept
credit or debit cards.
Trimming policy:
All animals scheduled for a groom must be current on
vaccinations, in particular, and obviously, the rabies shot. Owners may
be asked to provide paperwork to that effect.
Safety:
Safety
comes first during the grooming process, for people as well as pets.
You must inform the groomer prior to grooming if your pet has bitten
someone or has aggressive tendencies.
Owners will be held liable for any bites or any property damage caused by their pets.

Occasionally, we may require the pet owner's assistance during a groom.This
would apply to animals who exhibit extreme separation anxiety, some animals
who require muzzling, or for some animals that move around a lot (like cats).
Fleas, parasites, skin conditions:
Ticks will always be removed
at no extra charge, barring a serious infestation. Flea & Tick Treatments are available for purchase, Bio Spot: Individual $8 & 3 month packages $24. Happy Paws will not
groom animals with ringworm or mange, as these conditions are highly
contagious and will contaminate the van. Immediate vet attention is required.
Cancellations:

Winter:
We will call all scheduled clients to re-schedule in
the event of a snowstorm or coming snowstorm. After a heavy snow, clients are asked
to please be sure their driveways are cleared, or that the
street front is navigable for parking.
